Feast Day: St. Martin of Tours

Today is the Feast of St. Martin of Tours, a Roman soldier who shared his cloak with a beggar, an act which started his conversion to Christianity. St. Martin retired from the military and organized a monastery of monks and later was named Bishop of Tours.

Dear St. Martin, you gave willingly half of what you needed, help me to always give, not just from my excess, but also from my need in God's name! St. Martin of Tours, pray for us.

How cool is this?  We're taking a group of high school students to Mass, social with the parish after, then off to do service work ... offering our time and talents for others.

And prayers of thanksgiving to ALL veterans who have given their time and talents (and some, their lives) in the service of our Country.  God bless you all.
